The fact that you are reading this shows that privacy issues are becoming a growing concern among mobile app users. Therefore, we feel that it is our duty to disclose the way we handle any data that may be collected while you are using Compass ("Application"). By using the Application, you are deemed to have read and agreed to our privacy policy as described here.
Like many other mobile apps, this Application uses Google Firebase Analytics to gain insight on app usage and user engagement. The analytics report will help us make better decisions to improve our apps and to develop new ones. Information that is collected includes app version, duration of usage, device type and country. All reporting is anonymous and aggregated, meaning, we cannot personally link any data to our users.
This Application uses geolocation service to determine your current position. This information is solely used to find out the magnetic declination in order to calculate true north from magnetic north. If you do not wish to let the Application obtain your geolocation information, you may turn it off from your device's settings page. The Application may still work when geolocation service is turned off. The degree of error in displaying the true north is negligible for normal usages.
We may change this Privacy Policy at any time. The most recent version of the Privacy Policy is reflected by the version date located at the bottom of this Privacy Policy.
If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the Application, or have questions about our practices, please contact us via email at carrotappstudio@gmail.com.
